Personal Trainer Overview

When I receive and inquiry about personal training, the first thing I do is send a full questionnaire to the individual so that I can get to know more about them. I set up a complimentary assessment for them in which we go through a 30 minute workout to assess physical ability. I also allow time after the workout to go over answers to the questions that I sent to them. After gathering and analyzing this information altogether, I give suggestions as to what I think would help the person reach their goals as quickly as possible. I believe this approach is appropriate because most trainers will begin training a client without obtaining a full understanding of the individual. This can often result in goals taking much longer to reach and potential injury.

Training Philosophy

My approach to personal training encompasses three different aspects of fitness. Firstly, where the mind goes, the body follows. I believe that each individual who wants to start personal training must be mentally prepared for their transformation. I will help to motivate, encourage and inspire each client so they remain strong in their decision to continue to reach their goal. I motivate clients by making workouts enjoyable! I try to include workouts that they personally enjoy as much as I can.I also set a reward system in place. I allow them to state a short term goal(s) and a long term goal. With each goal, they will list a reward for themselves. When they reach that goal, they will be able to reward themselves with something they enjoy! Secondly, the body must be treated in such a way that it is catered to the individual. It is important that when starting personal training, you have a trainer that customizes your fitness regiment to your needs. You will find no cookie cutter approach while training with me. I will always switch up workouts to maintain optimal weight loss, muscle building or sports performance enhancement. Thirdly, the fuel that your body requires must come from food that fits your goals. Nutrition is just as important as doing the workouts. I make sure that each and every one of my clients has the tools that they need to succeed in their fitness goals including an original meal plan for their body type. Everyone is different, so no approach is the same. Some people may need a cardio based routine while another individual may benefit more from weight lifting, mobility exercises, etc. I believe that I possess the ideal characteristics that a personal trainer should have. I have knowledge and experience with various types of clients, I have a unique approach that allows each clients' experience to be very customized, and I have a genuine love for helping people. My goal for you is not to continue training you for years. I want to see my clients succeed and build confidence in themselves so that they can become their own personal trainer. I am blessed to have the skills to facilitate your success and I desire to share your success with you along your fitness journey.

Education

I have attended the University of Texas at San Antonio in pursuit of my Kinesiology degree with a concentration in Athletic Medicine. I have studied anatomy, physiology, exercise science, nutrition, injury prevention, and biomechanics at UTSA. Apart from my professional degree, I have received my personal training certification in which I studied group exercise, exercise prescription for special populations, corrective exercises, meditation, yoga and sports conditioning. I have had experience in utilizing these learned skills in the years that I have been personal training. I have worked out of two different private gyms in which I have been able to aid my clients in reaching goals that they have had for years.

Bio

From a very young age, I became very passionate about health and wellness. I became determined to break the trend of diabetes and heart disease in her own family by adopting healthy ways of life. As a result, I grew up to become a competitive runner and swimmer. Yearning to take my athletic career further, I competed in the Phil Heath Classic body building show, the largest show to date in NPC history. At this show, I placed 2nd place in my figure category and top ten in my bikini category.

Striving to reflect my success upon others, I obtained her NCCPT personal training and nutrition certifications. I am well versed in corrective exercises and I have experience with training individuals of all ages, including one on one fitness, couples training and group fitness. I have coached individuals for competitive fitness competitions and I have worked with athletes on improving agility, timing and endurance. I currently work as an independent contractor, training with clients at Olympus Sports Training.

I have received training in Anatomy, Physiology, Meditation, Group Exercise, and Exercise Science. I continue to advance in my degree in athletic medicine at UTSA while pursuing many more certifications to continue to help my clients become the best version of themselves.

“I am here to motivate, encourage and teach you, but it is your decision to commit to increasing the quality of your life through fitness. You are not alone in your race to get fit. I am here to go through it with you until we both cross the finish line together. I truly desire to share your struggles and your successes along the way. It may not be easy, but it will be worth it. Together, we will make the best team possible and we can tackle whatever goal it is that you want to set for yourself, no matter how small or large it may be.”
