Personal Trainer Overview

Choosing a certified personal trainer to get you in shape is a very important step. It is important to choose a professionally certified personal trainer to ensure quality service and ensure maximum results from your workouts. As your trainer, I can help you set realistic and attainable personal goals. The fitness program and training schedule I’ll create will suit you and your personal needs. The workout program should include cardiovascular training and resistance training, and be complemented by healthy nutrition and rest. In return for your commitment, I will dedicate my knowledge, support and encouragement to your journey. I will provide motivation, education, and coaching to boost your results. My job is to help you better understand your body and to teach you proper technique for top performance so that you achieve better results – in less time.

Your personalized workouts will always begin with a thorough warm-up and stretch; and include a balance of aerobic, and resistance exercises utilizing free weights, resistance bands, medicine balls, etc. Athlete clients can expect a thorough warm-up and stretch with aerobic, anaerobic, and resistance exercises utilizing free weight and sports conditioning equipment.

I am capable and have trained just about every age category, from youth, young adults, married couples, middle age, elderly, and athletes. I'm also a massage therapist.

Training Philosophy

I believe that every client is unique and has abilities of their own that should not be compared to anyone else. My work as a trainer should be to make each client reach their maximum potential by using strength training, weight training, stretching, cardio, functional training, intensive boot camp style workouts, proper nutrition, etc... Balance and knowing your client is key when training them to reach their goals. Whether you goal is to gain strength, lose weight, become faster and powerful, endure longer, gain muscle mass, and to be explosive, I can help you reach your goal.

I have a Bachelors degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Florida and received a diploma for completing massage school at the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville. I have completed courses in exercise physiology, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology, athletic training, stretching using the Mattes Method, strength and conditioning. Bio

Hi! I’m Jude Parfait and I am the owner and personal trainer for Gainesville’s own HomeBody Fitness. I was born in May of 1974 in Houma, Louisiana and raised in Dulac, Louisiana. As a child, my days were filled with playing a lot of backyard sports and doing lots of chores. I lived on the bayou in a small town community of fishermen. It was a laissez faire sort of lifestyle. Most of my neighbors were cousins and best friends. My hobbies include playing football, soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and cycling. I love to watch and cheer for Florida Gator Sports, and playing the bass guitar at The Family Church in Gainesville.

One of the biggest lessons I learned while growing up in my hometown was that you have to work very hard at everything you do but do it with sincerity, honesty and with a genuine heart. I believe that’s what has made me who I am today.

During my time in the Navy, there was a news story on television that opened my eyes to the obesity epidemic we have in the US. The broadcast showed people of all ages, including children, with despairing situations. I realized at that time I wanted to help people with their fitness and health needs and decided that I needed to educate myself about health and fitness. So I attended the University of Florida’s College of Health and Human Performance. As a student I worked in the university’s student fitness centers where I engaged the many students at UF with their fitness needs. One of my proudest moments as a University of Florida student was training the Gator athletes in the Florida weight room through the year of 2002. I had first hand experienced training athletes in the sports of football, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, track and field, gymnastics, and swimming. Some of those names are Rex Grossman, Taylor Jacobs, Ben Troupe, Todd Johnson, Keiwan Ratliff, Dallas Baker, Jemalle Cornelius, Billy Latsko, DeShawn Wynn, Ray McDonald, Reggie Lewis, Aury Cruz, Benavia Jenkins, Nicole McCray, Jacque Robinson, Jane Collymore, and you probably get the picture that there are a lot to list. It was at the end of 2002 that I graduated from UF with my Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences and a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.

Since 2002, I have been blessed with the opportunity to train the wonderful people of Gainesville. Immediately after graduation, I was hired by Cornerstone Academy to fill the position of Athletic Director for grammar and secondary sports, and teach physical education for grades one through twelve. Working at Cornerstone was a great foundation builder for me as a coach and an administrator. Besides meeting and getting to know so many fantastic people, I developed my coaching skills by coaching secondary and grammar sports teams. Even after leaving the Athletic Director’s position at Cornerstone in 2004 to start my own business, I still coach at Cornerstone. I am proud to say that the high school soccer team I train won the league championships in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The team also won a national championship title through National Association of Christian Athletes in 2007.

One of my favorite summertime things to do is directing my very own sports conditioning camp. I started my first camp in 2003 titled Fast Tracks and then renamed it Cross Champions in 2005.

I opened HomeBody Fitness during June of 2004 when a friend referred my name to another friend of theirs. I am a proud member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and have received the prestigious Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist – CSCS designation. I am certified CPR/AED through the American Heart Association.

Today, my life as a strength and conditioning coach is certainly rewarding because I get to train people from all walks of life making them feel better with the quality of their health. I am always excited and motivated to continue on when I see the excitement from my clients. It’s at that time when I know that I have done my job. Everyone should experience a better life. I challenge you to make your life better today.
