Bio
Following that, I acquired and developed for 5 years my own small business as a broker specializing in business insurance.
After almost 2 decades in the corporate world, I began to feel burned out and decided to turn my lifelong passion for sports into a new path. A competitive runner from 5K to marathon distances, I moved to the U.S. in 2010 to live from that passion, initially focusing on fitness training for runners. In 2011, I became a certified personal trainer and weight management instructor through IFPA-NCCA.
My journey as a business owner in the US started in 2012 with Darwin Fitness. For the first several years, I operated as an independent Personal Trainer, renting space from other gyms.
The business took a decisive step forward in July 2020 when I opened my own 900 sq ft private studio in Maitland. In a true contrarian move, I invested right at the beginning of the COVID crisis. Truthfully, the pandemic made me feel the urge to control my own working space.
I was able to expand by bringing on a second trainer in May 2021, and in January 2023, I doubled our space to 1800 sq ft to keep up with our growth.
Today, Darwin Fitness is expanding again to a new 3,000 sq ft location at 2250 Lee Road in Winter Park. The site is currently in build-out, and we’re set to move in December 2025 with a team of seven certified trainers and nutrition coaches plus myself.
