Who is Christy Donat-Germain?

CChristy is a dedicated fitness and nutrition professional with 40+ years of coaching experience and a passion for helping people of all ages and abilities reach their highest potential. As a PSA-rated figure skating coach with group and free skate expertise, Christy brings a science-backed, discipline-driven approach to training that translates seamlessly to general fitness and wellness goals.

She holds certifications in personal training and nutrition, complemented by a PSA Sports Science and Medicine rating, and an extensive array of coaching credentials and currently completing a doctorate in clinical nutrition from Notre Dame University. Her background in classical ballet and ice dance informs a nuanced understanding of movement, posture, balance, and body mechanics, enabling her to design safe, effective programs for beginners through advanced athletes.

Christy’s coaching philosophy centers on empowering clients to apply the work ethic, focus, and perseverance honed on the ice to everyday life. Training Philosophy

There is not one single method that fits everyone's needs - We all have different goals and barriers to over come - each training session and nutrition program is designed for the specific needs of our clients - I strive to assist my clients to reach their goals in a positive stress free manor - Over the past 5 years I have through myself in to the studies of Holistic Nutrition and currently working on a Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition at Notre Dame Maryland. My studies have allowed me to better understand the nutritional needs of others and the ability to assist you through many different challenges in health and wellness. Whether you need a kick in the but or kid gloves we are here to help - We enjoy assisting others to accomplish goals that on their own could not possibly achieve!

Education

In my bio their is an extensive description of my background to fitness. - I have obtained throughout the past 40 yrs many continuing education certifications in various disciplines of fitness and group training. And, currently completing a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition

I have continued coaching figure skating and have obtained two (2) oral ratings through the PSA, completed a 2 year internship under a master rated coach and have a certified rating in sports science.

Bio

Christy is a sixty (60) year old NPC national competitive bodybuilder, wife of David Germain and mother of a eleven (25) year old daughter. She has been a certified personal trainer for the past forty (40) years and brings with her a strong understanding of the body, mind and the true meaning of self-discipline. Having studied classical ballet as an apprentice with Garden State Ballet from pre-teen through young adulthood she then went on to study the art of Ice Dance under the direction of David Owen and Scott Gregory at the Olympic Training Centers in Spring Valley, New York and Newark, Delaware. She went on to skate professionally, coached figure skating and hockey players both on and off the ice. After an injury and unable to skate personal training became a full-time career. Helping others to achieve their personal fitness goals, to make true lifestyle changes, and to better their health and well-being is truly gratifying and rewarding!
